Top ways for construction and concrete workers to remain effective while working from home

As social distancing restrictions due to Covid-19 have many of us working from home and unable to be on site, now is a time to come together and help each other through this unique situation. For many of us in construction and concreting, working inside is often not something we’re as used to. So, we thought we’d share some of our favourite ways to remain productive, efficient and effective while working from home.

1. Routine

Get up and get ready like you would for work every day, shower, get dressed, and have breakfast and/or coffee.

2. Set daily goals

Set daily work goals, make them realistic and achieve them. If you don’t, you’ll just end up on your socials and watching Netflix all day with no productivity.

3. Have a designated space

Have an office space, or another designated space at home, just for work. This will allow you to distinguish between work time and You time.

4. Be active

Physical exercise helps your immune system and is very important nowadays. Whether it be going for a walk, walking your dog, or just a home-based routine, just do something. Include eating healthy and drinking lots of water, and you’ll be a force not to be reckoned with.

5. Take breaks

Take mini breaks throughout the day. It can be just to go outside and get some air or soak up a small amount of sun. This will help you stay fresh, and also keep your mind active without burnout.

6. Stay connected

Stay in touch with your work colleagues as you would at work. Stay in contact with your customers as you would normally. Call prospect customers and chat to them – they may actually have the time now.

And most importantly, don’t forget to SMILE.
